Jag blir förvånad över meddelandet, och samtidigt irriterad och tycker att den här spekulanten är bra lat. Om han vill veta mer om vespan får han väl ställa mer specifika frågor. Men OK, jag kan ju svara i alla fall. Jag drar iväg ett mail:

Det är klart jag kan. Jag drar iväg tre bilder på vespan och beskriver att den startar utmärkt och går finfint men att den har några skråmor på vänstersidan.
Han är snabb med sin reaktion och redan kl 18.47 plingar det till i mailboxen:

Handen på hjärtat. I det här läget vill jag verkligen sälja iväg min vespa till en mariningenjör i Bermuda. Det här är en bra historia, helt enkelt. Och jag är nästan lite smickrad över att nån så långt borta gillar min vespa så mycket. Den är inte speciell egentligen och det gör mig lite brydd. Och så har han en egen budfirma? ”my Private Courier Service”. Konstigt. Men är han excentrisk nog att vilja betala så OK! Och PayPal är ju säkert.
Jag gör några inlägg på FaceBook och berättar att jag har en avlägsen köpare. En bekant varnar mig för Nigeriabrevsyndromet, men eftersom köparen ska pröjsa med PayPal så känner jag mig lugn.
Men bor han egentligen i Sverige och bara är ute och åker båt ett tag? Alltså, borde han inte vara svensk eller ha kopplingar till Sverige om han har kollat efter en vespa på Blocket? Jag frågar i ett mail:

Uppvaknandet

Med skallen full av tunga tankar om hur bökbyråkratiskt det måste vara att exportera en vespa till Bermuda kollar jag mailen på morgonen den 17 aug. Tre mail har trillat in, två från PayPal och ett från John Per (ett lustigt namn, eller hur, och ett namn som jag försöker hitta på FaceBook. Några sydamerikaner heter så, men ingen ingenjör.).
Det första PayPalmeddelandet överraskar mig. Transaktionerna verkar gå så fort. Och varför är det 20.000 kr? Vespan kostar 16.500 spänn!?! Och varför finns adressen till en budfirma i Malaysia med i texten?
I det andra PayPalmeddelandet framgår plötsligt att PayPal har låst pengarna tills jag skickar in kopia på ett kvitto på att frakten för vespan är betald. Usch vad jobbigt, känner jag.
Det tredje mailet, det från Mr Per, visar att han har bytt ton. Han är rätt hård i sitt mail och vill att jag ska göra en massa grejer:

Jag googlar namnet på budfirman, Courier Exchange Logistics, och får napp. På forumet sporthoj.se hittar jag det och då är saken klar: Mr John Per är en bedragare!
I april har signaturen Bonzo i Örebro skrivit i detta forum för motorcykelintresserade om att en Mr Sotty Bullocks erbjudit sig att köpa Bonzos båge via PayPalbetalning och ”skickat” 3.500 kr för mycket. Om bara Bonzo överför 3.500 kr till just Courier Exchange Logistics i Malaysia så får han alla stålar. Jo, tjena. Man blir 3.500 spänn fattigare och ingen kommer att hämta vespan. Det är ett faktum att Mr Bullocks och Mr Per har formulerat sig exakt likadant i sina mail. Kanske är det samma person. Eller så jobbar de för samma uppdragsgivare.

Jag detaljkollar de två mail jag har fått från PayPal.com på morronen och jämför med mail jag fick när jag registrerade mig med PayPal för två år sedan. Satan. De är bra lika, men de två nya är fejk. Inget snack. Men de är otroligt trovärdiga.
Jag vidarebefordrar dem till PayPals spooftjänst och får snart i retur att, jodå, de är falska.
Nu blir jag förbannad. Vafan! Ska inte min vespa få kryssa mellan öar i Västindien? Försökte han blåsa mig!? Jag skriver ett mail där jag kallar honom bedragare och att jag inte vill höra av honom igen. Men precis när jag ska skicka iväg det, stannar jag upp och ler. Vafan! Han försöker blåsa mig på pengar. Jag kan blåsa honom på arbetstid, och ha roligt på kuppen. Nu jävlar.

Nu börjar en intensiv mailväxling där jag gradvis brer på med en växande lögn om mina motiv till att sälja vespan. Mr Pers engelska krackelerar allteftersom han är tvungen att frångå sina mallar och skriva egna inlägg. Han blir frustrerad över att jag förändrar spelplanen och i största välvilja fokuserar på honom och ”hans ekonomiska knipa”, och han verkar inte ha förmåga att ta till sig sarkasm vilket roar mig oerhört. Han blir rätt tjatig i längden, men han kan inte släppa tanken på att jag faktiskt snart ska skicka pengar till Malaysia för att få sälja min vespa. Och efter ett tag tror jag nästan att han heter asap.

When you get in shore and reach a western union office to send money to Malaysia, please count on me to fullfil my part then. And if I already have sold the vespa to someone else I will see to that you get all the 20.000 SEK back of course. Please, look at this incident as an experience we both can learn from. Maybe we both are a little too naive when it comes to this global way of buying and selling.

Sedan i torsdags har jag grunnat på hur jag ska kunna skaka fram några andra typer av svar från min Bermudabedragare Mr John ”asap” Per. Ska jag ställa frågor om hans båt? Jag har kollat lite på min e-mailväxling med Mr John Per och den tidsstämpling som mailen får. Jag kan avläsa att alla mail som jag har skickat till honom har mottagits av honom vid ett klockslag som är nio timmar efter svensk tid. Om han har ställt in sin dator på rätt tid där han sitter så kanske man kan se ungefär var han är. Just nu har vi sommartid vilket gör att att man ska åtta tidszoner västerut. Där hittar jag New territories i Kanada, amerikanska stater som Minnesota, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico och Idaho, samt fem regioner i Mexiko: Nayarit, Sinalos, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua och Sonora. Kanske sitter bedragen där någonstans.
Tyvärr har lördagens enda mail en tidsstämpling som säger att han istället är 6 timmar före svensk tid, vilket skulle innebära en placering i antingen västra Australien, Brunei, östra Kina, Hong Kong, Indonesien, Malaysia, Mongoliet, Filippinerna, Ryssland (zon 7), Singapore eller Taiwan.

Suget efter pengar är starkt för Mr Asap. Om jag viftar med en sedelbunt så är han med och spelar igen. Ett dygn efter att jag meddelat att jag kan skicka pengar får jag ett svar:

Han mal på om formaliteterna om hur jag ska göra för att skicka cash på ett korrekt sätt så att jag blir ordentligt snuvad och lurad. Men - i mailet finns en detalj som skvallrar om att det förmodligen är en och samma person som ligger bakom skurk-aliaset John Per: han skriver nämligen ”soRry for my last message” Det anspelar på att han kanske ändå vill låtsas som att han varit lite okänslig tidigare. Kul. Han vill smeka mig medhårs om det finns stålar att tjäna.

När det börjar lukta kosing tar Mr Asap kontakt. Kl 17.23 kommer ett lite oroligt eller uppfodrande mail från honom, för jag har ju inte skickat några stålar:

Så var det dags att känna Mr John Asap Per på pulsen igen.
Jag är nyfiken på hur uthållig en professionell nätbedragare är. Det var två månader sedan jag lade ut vespan på Blocket, och mer än en månad sedan jag senast hade kontakt med honom.
På lördagkvällen den 16 oktober drar jag iväg ett mail:
”Hello
Are you there, Mr John? If you are interested my vespa is still with me.
No speculants have contacted me during the past weeks and it feels kind of bad, since I really need to sell my Vespa. I am sorry for not keeping in contact with you. You see, I have been hospitalized. Actually, that was connected with you since I got robbed and beaten just before I was going to send money to the transport firm in Malaysia on your behalf. I was let out of the hospital eight days ago, but I still get nursed at home due to problems with the mobility of my right arm and hand. My heart operation is post poned until further notice and I am saving up money for it.
Please tell me if you are still interested in the Vespa.

Jag kollade in på Blocket nyss för att se vilken information de ger om ”Nigeriabrev”-liknande bedragare. Nedslående. Den känns lite undangömd på hemsidan men framförallt är den inte uppdaterad. Det varnas tex inte för att bedragarna använder PayPal, eller låtsas använda PayPal, numera för att ge högre trovärdighet. Det tycker jag är svagt. Dags att lyfta fram varningsinformationen och hålla den aktuell.
Sedan jag lade ut den här hemsidan har jag kontaktats av fyra personer som haft liknande erfarenheter som jag. De har alla bearbetats på samma sätt när de velat sälja MC eller bil. Det här problemet är nog ordentligt stort. De flesta som kontaktas via SMS på engelska raderar kanske meddelandet direkt, men metoderna verkar vara så pass automatiserade att bedragarna kan bearbeta hundratals, kanske tusentals säljare, så att får de bara napp på en procent så kan de dra hem pengar tillräckligt för att det ska löna sig att fortsätta.
Blocket och andra säljkanaler på internet måste tydligare informera om bedragarnas metoder. Polisen är förmodligen chanslös eftersom bedragarna, som jag gissar, sitter i länder där rättvisan inte är så intresserad av att ingripa mot skurkar som lurar pengar av folk i välmående länder.
